huge power loss at high rpm's

recently built a motor that has a carb that flows real good...i mean real good. built the motor like all the rest but on the dyno the motor has a huge power dropoff at high rpms. (between 6500 to 7000). its as good or better than the rest up to that point then it drops like a rock. tried messin with the timing. tried retainers. tried different jets. tried different pipes. what am i missing? any ideas or opinions would be appreciated. thanks

Stock, Limited, Open? If it's a stocker, 6600, 6700 may be all it likes to turn for the cam and setup, need a little more info to help out.

Try a different coil first but its probably in the springs.

valve seats. i would be willing to bet on it. especially if it is an r3 block the exhaust seats leak bad on them. have them changed out with some os seats. big difference especially on top end.

Springs pressure ,coilbind, valve lash, Leaking valves or seats, Harmonics in the valve train/hitting head hard. Ports/velocity ?, Piston & Ring friction. Lifters bottoming out. Crank bearings or bushings bores worn , vibration ?
